Getting your General Building Inspector Licence
While the licensing requirements differ across Australia, anyone undertaking pre-purchase residential building inspections associated with the sale of a property in Australia, must do so in accordance with the Australian Standards. This is also a requirement of Professional Indemnity insurance companies. Therefore, if you are going to undertake pre-purchase inspections, then you must do so in accordance with the standard, otherwise you may be not covered by your professional indemnity policy should a claim arise against you.
